You can visit all the locations from the film, and even the home used as Pony Boy's house in the movie is now a museum devoted to "The Outsiders." Great Salt Plains State Park, located near the border of Kansas, you can dig here for selenite crystals! It is the only place in the world where you can find them. If you've never visited salt plains or a salt lake, it is a very unique landscape!
Beaver's Bend is in Eastern Oklahoma in the Ouachita mountains. It is full of forests and spectacular rock formations.
Built in the 1930s near Lawton, The Holy City of the Wichitas was created to look like Israel during Biblical times. Among the buildings you'll find the Temple Court, the Lord's Supper building, Herod's Court and Pilate's Hall.
The Museum of Osteology, located in Oklahoma City, is "America's Only Skeleton Museum". Here you'll find a unique museum full of all sorts of skeletons!

Across the state you'll find museums, visitor centers and other opportunities to learn more about the Native Americans who now call Oklahoma home. One interesting place to visit is Sequoyah’s Cabin in Sallisaw. Here you can visit the one room cabin of Sequoyah, built in 1829. Sequoyah was the Cherokee who developed the written alphabet for the Cherokee language.
